New Independents Group launches

The pro- Gloucester Independents Alliance is a group established to campaign for and to develop progressive ideas for Gloucester on the basis that there will be no party political line to follow that would prevent putting the interests of the City first and foremost.

The alliance has been set up by Faye Elliot, a champion of Pensioners Rights, Phil Jordan, a local firefighter who as an independent candidate for Tuffley came a credible second in last May’s local elections in the City, and Alex McKee who is an opponent of regionalisation and an passionate advocate of local democracy.

Our Aims

• To bring together a broad coalition of campaigns, communities, trades unionists, environmentalists and members of different political parties and community groups
• To work for social justice, excellence in public services and facillities, better community relations, a decent future for our young people and a respectful and relaxing retirement for our deserving pensioners…
• … to make Gloucester a place we can all be truly proud to live in.

What we’re about

The pro-Gloucester Independents Alliance is a forum for the discussion of progressive thinking to meet the needs of a 21st century city and will campaign and organise on issues such as improvement in living standards and quality of life for all, investment in decent public services and safety for Gloucester residents from crime; equality for all and support for Gloucester as a multicultural city.
