Following further pressure from Faye Elliott, the independent candidate for Quedgeley, Kingsway and Grange, the City Council and Enterprise have agreed to resume collection of garden waste from residents at Quedgeley Court Park.
The City Council has given permission for Enterprise to collect waste from the black wheelie bins rather than from the green bins which Enterprise refused to collect from. Residents may put garden waste into their black bins provided they can shut the lids.
The green wheelie bins are to be collected by Enterprise and taken away as they will no longer be needed for the garden waste.
Whilst we are delighted that Faye has solved the problem for the residents at Quedgeley Court Park, we feel that it proves that the council are willing to bend the rules for companies but not for individuals.
It does appear to be the easy option for Enterprise, but this was the only option which would resolve this issue of Enterprise not collecting the garden waste, or the elderly and disabled residents having to wheel the bins to the road and back.
Chris Barrett, the site manageress, has said she is pleased with the result and thanked Faye for her help.
